Government Launches the Clean Industry Bonus

The government has launched the Contracts for Difference (CfD) Clean Industry Bonus (CIB). Fixed and floating offshore wind applicants can obtain extra CfD revenue support if they choose to invest in more sustainable supply chains.

The CIB allocation framework has been published on gov.uk. The CIB allocation framework sets out how to apply for a Clean Industry Bonus, and how funding will be allocated. The CIB guidance sets out the process for receiving CIB payments, and other matters related to the delivery of CIB commitments.

A consultation on CfD contract changes required to include the CIB in the contract has been published on gov.uk. The consultation closes on 10 December 2024.
The CIB application window is currently scheduled to open in February 2025. In due course, government will publish more documents to help with the application process.
